In 1994, three leading Nelson print companies; General Print, Enterprise Print and Stiles, came together to form Printhouse. For over 12 years now Printhouse has been providing printing solutions to a wide range of customers from manufacturers, tourism operators, hospitality, professional services and the general public.

Printhouse is located at 60 Rutherford Street, Nelson.

•  Printhouse is part of a cooperative which enables access to an HP Indigo Digital Press which provides you with fast, accurate and affordable digital printing.
•  Agfa Sherpa proofing system with ApogeeX Software

•  2x Heidelberg – GTO46 1 colour presses, 1 x Heidelberg GTO52 2 colour press
•  Heidelberg A2 die cutting cylinder and A3 platen machine
•  G + K A2 folding machine, glue binding and trimming
•  2 Guillotines / Bindery – punching, stapling/stitching/shrink wrapping
•  Laminating up to AO sizes
•  Xerox 5065 DocuColor digital copier with Fiery CWS software

Software Compatability

Computer software programmes that we run from are:

  • DynaStrip Imposition software (Adobe PDF workflow)
  • Freehand MX
  • Adobe Photoshop CS
  • Adobe Illustrator CS
  • Adobe Indesign CS

Files formats accepted are:

  • Adobe PDF (workflow compatible)
  • EPS (workflow compatible)
  • JPG
  • TIFF

Or raw files relating to a software mentioned above.

We also can work with Microsoft Word and Publisher files, but as these are not Designer programmes, and will incur an additional cost for file conversion.

Print House has been ISO 9001 Accredited since 1996. That means we operate under systems and procedures that are regularly audited by ISO and which have attained a high standard of professionalism. In addition to ISO accreditation, Printhouse is committed to maintaining safety procedures and to only using products and chemicals that meet safety regulations. Most of the papers used these days contain 20% plus recycled material and are chlorine free. Printhouse looks for environmentally friendly stock and reviews its suppliers regularly on this basis.

Stationery

Printhouse also owns and operates an office products depot from the same location on Rutherford Street. Customers can access the full range of office products with Printhouse, being a franchisee of the OPD group.
